What an amazing place. My mother, sister and I went to dinner after a show and was greeted by Frances who was the nicest, kindest and most professional host ever. We had the most wonderful food and the atmosphere was lovely. We spoke with Al the owner who made us feel we were old friends. Thank you for such a GREAT night. I most certainly will be back and highly recommended this restaurant. XOXOXOXOXOXO Dale

A friend and I dined this afternoon at LaFourno. The food was FAB-U-LOUS! I highly recommend the veal parmesean. The servings were plentiful to say the least. Service was beyond the call of duty for many reasons. Not only was the staff attentive and VERY good looking...but I found out that they employed 3 recently honorably discharged soldiers. The soldiers had spent some time at either the Naval or VA Hospital (I'm not sure) recovering from war wounds. I am a Navy Veteran and was so excited to meet them to say the least. I thank them for their service and wish them well on their continued recovery and success in civilian life. In the meantime, LaFourno has done a wonderful thing by providing employment for these veterans as the unemployment rate for our GI's is higher than the national average. Just yet another reason to visit LaFourno for a great meal, great service, and more! Thanks!

Went to La Fourno last night to celebrate a friend's 50th birthday. So glad we decided on this restaurant. The food and service were outstanding (and we were a party of 10). Lobster Ravioli was fantastic! Francis, thank you for your patience, good humor and professionalism. You treated us like we were your only table in the restaurant. Will definitely go again.

MY cousins and I were going to see a show at Society Hill Playhouse and decided to try La Fourno because they offered a 10% discount. Our waiter Francis was GREAT and the food excellant. We had a great time and look forward to going back soon!

Today is my husband's 33rd birthday and we went to La Fourno to celebrate his special day courtesy of my brother Lou's recommendation! I am so glad that I listened to my brother because the food and service was superb! Francis, our waiter was so kind and efficient and Ann the bartender was so sweet and welcoming from the moment we walked into the restaurant! I look forward to going back to dine at La Fourno and will definitely recommend it to family and friends! By far the best service we ever received in the area!

We always come to south street in philly from Atlantic City to eat. We have walked passed this place all the time but boy did we miss out the food and service was excellent. I'm coming back and bringing more friends with me every time I come

My husband treated me to dinner and I was fortunate that he chose La Fourno. The food was excellent and the service was amazing. The atmosphere was relaxed and quaint. All the servers were great, Steve our server and he made us feel special. We will definitely be back and will recommend La Fourno to friends and family. Thank you for one of the most amazing dinig experiences ever! I can see why it was voted Philly's Best!

We, also, found this terrific restaurant on TravelZoo and had the most amazing dinner EVER. It is the best (authentic) Italian cuisine we have found in Philadelphia (the veal is to die for!! and the tilapia was excellent!!! Portions are very generous) The owner, Al, extended a genuine and warm appreciation for our coming and the warm and attentive service by Francis and Stephen made us feel like we had found new friends. What a refreshing experience to find a new restaurant where the food is wonderful and the staff and service REALLY make you feel like they are so happy to have you. This restaurant is the model for what dining out should be! We will recommend La Fourno to our friends and co-workers with the highest accolades!!!!! Bravo, Al!

La Fourno hosted a rehearsal dinner for our son and daughter-in-law to be's wedding on May 26th, 2012. This was an absolutely phenomenal experience. The food was exceptional, service impeccable, atmosphere relaxing and the staff was the best (especially Frances) ! The entire evening was above and beyond expectations. Would definitely recommend for private dining!
